Today I was trying to get Miss Priss upstairs for a nap when she said "No mama. I want to do it myself." I realized for the first time ever that she is putting together sentences and even doing complete sentences. I don’t know when that happened. When my parents were here they kept saying that she had a great vocabulary. I tend to think that is just them being proud grandparents. She can do anything and they think it’s the cutest thing ever. My mom sat next to a man on the plane flight out that was excited that his two year old knew a hundred words. First of all , I don’t know how people count these things. Maybe it stems from sign language? I have never been able to keep up with how many words our daughter knew. I figured once she pointed at her Sesame Street book at a year and half (maybe more) and said octagon that we were moving in the right direction.
But, I never really thought I had to keep up with her sentences. I think she is going to be a talker. Not sure where they came from.
I do enjoy that she can look in a bridal magazine with me and give her honesty opinion of a wedding dress. Today she pointed at a dress by Jimmy’s Bridal and said "Oh. I don’t like that. Turn the page." Then when we ended up on another dress (I believe it was Vera Wang) she said "OH. That’s beautiful. Do you like it mama? I love it. It’s so pretty." Seriously this was her conversation with me. And to be honest the dress was beautiful. The child has good taste. Kind of expensive. But, let’s look past that for now.
